Throughout the ages natural stone has stood the test of time and has always been the principal element in building and decoration. Ancient structures realised in natural stone have survived to modern times and still provoke astonishment and admiration.

Today, marble, travertine and granite still play a prominent role in decoration and continue to aesthetically defy time when used for tables and work surfaces. Diamond Service

Overtime, the surface appearance of marble floors deteriorates due to heavy use, excessive humidity, or the use of abrasive chemical cleaning products. When the surface erodes, small pitted marks and scratches can be seen. Our Diamond Service involves honing off the top surface layer of the marble to leave a clean, perfectly smooth finish which is then polished to produce a deep long lasting shine.

Deep Shine Service

This is our worktop polishing service for treating marble, terrazzo, limestone and granite. Using the correct methods and chemicals is the only way to achieve a deep long lasting shine. Our Deep Shine Service is a two stage process: firstly, the worktop is thoroughly cleaned using acid. This not only removes the matt effect produced by the calcites in the stone but also provides a base for crystallisation. Secondly, a crystallising resin is impregnated into the marble giving long lasting shine and protection.

Crystal Service

Our Crystal Service is a follow on maintenance program to the Deep Shine Service. Once the worktop has been correctly polished, it may need a simple buffing at some time in the future to maintain the protective layer against wear and tear and to help the natural colour brilliance of the stone shine through.

Worktop Sealing Service

A badly stained granite worktop can be very expensive to restore. Sealing is essential if the stone is absorbing moisture.

Natural stone is a porous substance which has a propensity to absorb moisture. The measure of porosity is measured through coefficients of water absorption and bulk density. A highly porous stone used as a kitchen worktop, for example, will readily absorb moisture and stain. The Metroclean Worktop Sealing Service involves treating the stone with a special solvent specifically designed to tap off pores while allowing the stone to breath.
